Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 is a federal civil rights statue enacted to ensure nondiscrimination against persons with disabilities. Knox County Schools has procedures in place to identify and accommodate students who are eligible for a Section 504 service plan in the regular education program. Parents and/or school staff may refer a student to the School Support Team for consideration of additional services that the student may need including a 504 service plan.
