Student Fees

The Board of Education makes every effort to obtain adequate funding for supplies and materials through the district budgeting process. When minimal funding is provided by the Knox County Board of Commissioners, the Board of Education must require fees for certain supplies and materials which would otherwise be unavailable. Fees vary from year to year and, to a limited extent, from school to school. Elementary and middle schools utilize a basic materials fee. At the high school level an attempt is made to limit student fees to elective subjects. Each school is required to furnish parents with an itemized list of such fees.
