System-wide Screening of Vision and Hearing:

The vision and hearing screening and retest programs involve testing approximately 20,000 students for vision and 14,000 for hearing each school year. This program is a crucial part of the educational experience for each student. Each year students are identified with significant vision and hearing impairments that impact their academic performance. Recommendations for the classroom setting are made to assist the teacher in accommodating each student’s educational needs.
