NOTE

Current Interns, Temporary Teachers must re-apply on-line

All teachers employed on an interim or temporary contract for 2007-08 must re-activate their application
to be considered for re-employment with Knox County Schools.  The Human Resources Department
 is transitioning from traditional paper applications to electronic applications.  Because paper
applications will no longer be used in the hiring process, you must re-apply on-line to be considered
for employment for the 2008-09 school year.

Knox County Schools Certified Positions

KCS is accepting only electronic applications for the 2008-09 applicant pool. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application at anytime during the year for the 2008-09 school year.

All applications for employment for certified positions must be completed on-line. To assist you in completing your on-line application efficiently, gather the following information before you begin the process:

  • Information about Highly Qualified status
  • Praxis Test Scores
  • Information about college(s) attended including graduation date(s)
  • Student Teaching/Intern information
  • Non-college or other professional training (if applicable)
  • Certification/Licensing information including type of license, endorsement area(s) and expiration date
  • Teaching experience including dates and address of school
  • Other employment history
  • Military experience (if applicable)
  • Reference information

When you begin your application, you will be asked to create a username and a password. It is helpful if you select a USERNAME and PASSWORD before you begin. Make note of this information and maintain it in a secure location.

Read the directions carefully. All starred items must be completed.

If you cannot complete the application in one setting, you may logout, return to the website and then complete the application at your convenience.

Note to Certified Applicants:
VACANCIES DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR:
Interim and temporary positions which occur after mid-July are not advertised. In keeping with the Memorandum of Agreement between Knox County Schools and the Knox County Education Association, vacancies after mid-July are filled from the existing applicant pool on a temporary, non-tenure basis and advertised as a vacancy for the following school year.

To become a part of the available pool of applicants, individuals are encouraged to complete an application on-line and submit it at any time.
