Randy Duncan,
a nationally renown choreographer and dancer, will be teaching master
classes for the Dance Department of Knox County Schools June 12-16
at Austin-East High School.
Duncan has worked with the Joffrey Ballet and the Chicago Academy
for the Arts as well as Paramount Studios over the last year. In January
his choreography was premiered in the box office hit movie, Save the
Last Dance. Randy Duncan and his assistant, Syreta Smith-Childs, will
be conducting this summer's dance intensive.
This year's schedule includes five days of master classes. The classes
begin on Tuesday, June 12, and continue through Saturday, June 16.
Duncan will also audition dancers for his solo piece, Shanequa's World.
Dancers selected to learn the solo or understudy the selected dancers
will work with Duncan and Smith-Childs throughout the week.
